Symptoms:
1) Fever and cold
2) Headache and dizziness
3) Without any cough or running nose
4) Taken paracetomol (Uphamol or Panadol) every 4 hours, recovered but strikes back soon
5) Some numb or light pain especially in joints
6) Serious case, will have rashes on hands, legs and body (face red-red is normal during fever)
7) More serious, bleeding when you brush teeth; nose-bleeding, sore and throat bleeding
To-Do:
1) Go to your family doctor (or straight to hospital, if you sense something is not right, usually up to #5 in Symptoms; #6 or #7, you can totally skip clinic already)
a. Clinic doctors will usually say take this antibiotic and rest for 2 days, if persist, then admit to hospital
b. If you feeling unwell, can straight away visit hospital
2) In hospital, a blood test will be conducted, if your platelet count is below 150, most probably, it’s dengue-positive.
Cure:
1) There is NO direct medicine or way to cure dengue—in western medical context.
a. You need to rest more in cold room (wtf?) to let your fever down, same time, have salt water (sodium chloride) drip
b. Your platelet count is monitored everyday
c. If it’s way too low (lesser than 20)- this is getting more dangerous and can cause death; blood transfusion is needed
d. It’s like a U-curve, Platelet count will drop till a minimum point before it started rebound (usually 5 days)
e. Fever might strike back, so drink lot of water, or platelet will not move up, sometimes drop even further; you must anyhow, eat some fruits or better, staple food to build antibody too
f. Once it’s on upward trend, you can ask for discharge, but take good care till reaching minimum normal healthy index (150- the stage where you gain back your stamina, don’t feel dizzy and tired and have appetite to eat; usually another 3-7 days)
2) Luckily, there are few proven ways to accelerate the platelet count toward upward trend
a. Drink lot of water and warm 100-plus (it’s also salt water)
b. Soup of Bull-frog, steam with young bittergout 田鸡小苦瓜 for 5 hours (1 full bowl a day)
c. Papaya’s leaf, blended with little water (about 50ml, once or twice a day)
d. Porcupine Date 豪猪枣 (you only need 1 dose or 1 teaspoon of powder from this RM72000 pil)
e. E-excel millennium cactus juice 诚燕千禧泉 (50ml every hour)
f. Amway- Acerola vitamin powder (approx 4 glasses a day)
Reminder- During Treatment & hospital stay:
1) Rest your eyes more. Read less, SMS less or don’t do things that need lot of eyes attention
2) Rest your mind more. Be positive, don’t increase stress level.
3) Rest your teeth. Don’t bite too much, especially things like red meat or chewing gums- they are very weak, due to low platelet count
4) Eat watermelon, pear, honeydew; cool but not too cold food
5) Drink some cordyseps or American ginseng, to build up immune system once fever are gone
Prevention:
1) Kill all mosquitoes and places they might build home
2) Ask for fogging service if necessary
3) Do more exercise and have vitamin C if antibody is low
4) Get a medical card or health insurance coverage (totally different from personal accident or life insurance)
